Company Progress December 2002
Alder Communications has now been trading successfully
since 1st July 2001, from our Stirling base, and we
are already developing a sound client base and securing
repeat business in the process. We have also gained
a reputation for carrying out logistically difficult
work that our clients would normally have had reservations
on undertaking.
We have pride in our work and submit our tenders with
no hidden extras; we endeavour to offer our clients
cost effective and efficient construction packages that
are tailored to meet with their needs.
In the past 18 months we have secured contracts directly
with main Telecommunication
Operators. We have also taken on many full project management
and construction packages for remotely based major contractors
that do not have an office or resources within Scotland.
This has proved to be very successful and has helped
our clients to increase their geographical presence
and capacity, with the peace of mind that their contracts
are being managed and executed by an experienced team
in a safe and professional manner.
The fact that we employ fully qualified and experienced
civil engineering staff, means that we can liaise directly
with consulting engineers, on our client's behalf, to
offer and obtain swift and practical resolutions to
construction problems encountered on sites. This minimises
delays on site and maintains fast-track programmes.
We are also able to represent our clients at progress
meetings.
Examples of some contracts we have recently undertaken:
-
-
Project management assistance, feasibility studies,
development and production of method statements,
site surveys and reports.
-
Full planning and logistical assistance with equipment
and cabin deliveries to remote sites including supplying
and management of helicopter operations, 4 wheel
drive, and specialist all terrain vehicles at competitive
rates.
-
18.0m Artificial Tree Site with approx 50 cubic
metres of concrete
-
Installation of private power supplies to site,
including underground cable tracks up to 1800m in
length. All electrical work carried out and tested
by NICEIC approved electricians.
-
Construction of several new tower sites including
all civils, electrical, feeder management, lightning
protection and fencing works
-
Managed and coordinated helicopter lifts adjacent
to 'A' Class roads with full traffic management
systems in place
-
Access road construction including up-grades and
reinstatement
-
Management and construction of site-shares and
up-grades including replacement towers during outages
-
Maintenance and remedial works to existing sites
Our furthest contract to the North has been in Sutherland
in the Scottish Highlands and the furthest South has
been Gateshead in the North-East of England. We have
recently tendered for more work in the North of England
and also in the Outer Hebridees of Scotland.
In 2003 we intend to maintain and establish our presence
further in Scotland and the North of England, continuing
to offer a 'one-stop' shop to our remotely based clients.
